'Tis the season for giving! For the second year in the row, our team came together to fundraise for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. For the month of November, we set a lofty goal of raising $15,000 in monetary donations and also filling one of our service vans full of non-perishable items. We kicked off the fundraiser with a building-wide bake sale and an international potluck luncheon with our staff to raise money. Afterwards, we opened up the fundraiser to our clients, suppliers and contractors, many of which we're thrilled to support the cause.
Donations of all shapes and sizes began pouring into our office; boxes of various non-perishable items, generous cash and cheque donations, and online donations on our virtual food bank. Thanks to the combined efforts of everyone involved, we were able to exceed our fundraising goal of $15,000 and we completely filled up one of our Martello vans with big boxes of food!
On Friday, December 1st we attended CBCs Open House and Food Bank event to deliver all the non-perishable items we received. We also had the opportunity to present our donations on camera to the CEO of the Food Bank – you can check out the segment here (starting at 17:27).

By the time our campaign finished, our total donations received had climbed up to $17,500 - amazing! For every $1 raised, the food bank can purchase $3 worth of fresh and local food for its 26,500 weekly users. With this donation the food bank will be able to purchase over $52,000 worth of meals for our community.
